MEMBERS of a croquet club will put the spotlight on their facilities at a fundraising open day in the spring.
Bury Croquet Club, which plays at Coronation Park in Radcliffe, will be showing visitors around their facilities, and encouraging people to take up the game on Saturday, April 23.
The group is also hoping to get electricity supplied to the clubhouse soon.
David Barrett, chairman of Bury Croquet Club, said: "The property is owned by Bury Council who are overseeing the scheme. But we are in the position that we self-maintain the facilties. We are now applying for grants and seeing what monies we can achieve over the next few months."
The group has been using a generator at the Coronation Road facilities for seven years.
It is hoped that the open day will swell their numbers from 36, and also raise money for Bury Hospice.
Visitors will be able to browse around stalls, take refreshments and join in a game of croquet. Mr Barrett added: "It will be a fun day and we hope that we can encourage more people to take up croquet and raise money for the club's charity at the same time."
