TRAFFIC delays are expected in Preston from next week while work takes place to resurface Corporation Street at the Marsh Lane and Heatley Street junctions, near the university.

A major scheme to resurface Corporation Street and improve the pavements will begin on Monday, January 24. During the work Corporation Street will be restricted to southbound traffic only, from Monday, between Heatley Street and Kendal Street, with a signed diversionary route for northbound traffic.

Marsh Lane and Heatley Street will be closed on Sundays at their junctions with Corporation Street, while the work is carried out.

The work is being carried out by Lancashire County Council and is expected to take six weeks to resurface the footways and carriageway between Heatley Street and Kendal Street and to reconstruct areas of carriageway in Corporation Street at the Marsh Lane and Heatley Street junctions. Temporary parking restrictions will apply to Heatley Street, between Friargate and Corporation Street, for the duration of the work.
