A FAMILY narrowly escaped death through gassing when fumes from a fractured gas main in Blackburn began to seep into houses.
The alarm was raised by five-year-old Ryzard Nejranowki whose cries woke his mother Wanda at their Abraham Street home.
She said: "I smelled gas and called for my husband then Ryzard collapsed. Another few minutes and we could have all been dead."
