A RADCLIFFE primary school is one of six across the borough to be recognised for the way it is raising awareness of dyslexia.
Teachers from Radcliffe Hall CE in Bury Street, together with Guardian Angels' RC and St Peter's CE in Bury, Holcombe Brook in Ramsbottom, Sedgley Park in Prestwich, and Mersey Drive in Whitefield, were awarded certificates by Bury Council's director of education and culture, Harold Williams.
Each school encouraged reading, writing and spelling within the classrooms using an initiative developed by Bury Council and the Dyslexia Institute, and funded from the Department for Education and Skills Small Programme Fund.
The initiative is spreading to other schools with teaching materials being used and specialist training for staff.
