STRICKEN skipper Gary Bauress is ordering his Lancaster City teammates to forget about Morecambe and get on with their jobs.

The skipper, on the slow road back from a hamstring injury, is fully aware of the excitement over the possible FA Trophy tie with the Shrimps.

But he insists City must get three Conference North points against Redditch on Saturday before even thinking of their Tuesday night replay with Vauxhall Motors - postponed from this week.

If they win that game the Dolly Blues will face their closest rivals in a Lune derby.

But Bauress barks: "If we think about Morecambe we could lose against Redditch and get knocked out against Vauxhall. That is often be the case if a side gets pre-occupied with a possible cup tie. I am determined we will not do that."

He goes on: "We are on a nice unbeaten run but we do need to start turning draws into wins. Redditch is a tough game - they all are - and then we have the Trophy replay with Vauxhall.

"I know people are excited about the prospect of playing Morecambe - but Vauxhall would like to play Morecambe just as much as us."

The possibility of the Lune derby has really captured the imagination after Monday's draw.

"It's a great draw and it gives us a real incentive to get through the replay," says City boss Phil Wilson.

"The replay will not easy, as last Saturday's draw proved, but if we get through you can be sure Morecambe will not fancy coming to the Giant Axe. It would be a great game and big crowd - but we have to get through first."

Steve Hollis is getting closer to a return after his ankle injury, while Ian Dawes (hamstring) could face another week on the sidelines.

o LANCASTER City's game with Alfreton Town, scheduled for FA Trophy fourth round day (February 5) has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 8 as Alfreton - and possibly City - are in Trophy action.
