LEIGH East might have had no game for four weeks but they still looked diamond sharp as they made comfortable progress into the fourth round of the GMB National Cup with a 52-0 home win over Millom.

East had Man of the Match Lee Wingfield in magnificent form. They had centres Woods and Kilshaw who troubled Millom with every touch of the ball and half backs Molyneaux and Gunning who dominated the attacking play.

By the 16th minute East were already 18 points to the good.

The first try came from Wingfield, off Kilshaw, after Clark had held off the defence. From the re-start a touch of the round ball game from Gunning and Molyneaux ended with a try for Gunning and from the re-start again Kilshaw made the running for a good finish from Lee Penkywicz.

Woods goaled all three, failed to convert a second try from Penkywicz but then coasted home from half way for a converted try which closed the half with East 28-0 ahead.

The second half followed much the same pattern. Wingfield set up a try for Kay, then quick passing saw Bowdler touching down. East's dominance remained to the end and after Wingfield had set up a try for Fletcher he closed the game as he had opened it - with another outstanding try. Kilshaw goaled all four second half tries.
