THE sixth winter bowling competition at Openshaw Park has a new champion.
The Bolton trundler Barry Robinson defeated Clive Chapman of Heywood in the final by a convincing 21-8 scoreline.
In the semi-final he saw off the challenge of Radcliffes Colin Newey 21-11.
Mrs Lynn Rimmer of Bamford won the ladies prize while Brian Taylor of Buersil defeated William Lear of Wardle 15-10 in the subsidiary competition.
BURY BA
THE AGM of Bury Bowling Association will be held on Thursday, January 27, 8pm at the Turf Hotel, Wash Lane.
On the agenda is the Friday night mixed pairs league and junior bowling.
EAGLE & CHILD VETS
THERE will be a meeting for A and B teams at the Eagle and Child, Higher Lane, Whitefield on February 9, commencing 2pm.
