WIGAN Council rolled out the red carpet last week to mark Leigh Centurions promotion to Super League.
The Centurions squad, who claimed a place in the elite division for the first time after a thrilling Grand Final win over Whitehaven last October, were guests of honour at Leigh Town Hall.
There to receive them and praise them for their achievement was the Mayor of Wigan, Cllr John Hilton.
Leader of the Council, Lord Smith of Leigh, also made a congratulatory speech.
