RESIDENTS who have racked up Christmas debts are being urged not to ignore the problem and hope it will go away.
Trading standards officers advise people not to panic but to get help and make plans to pay the money back at an affordable rate.
They suggest talking to a money or debt advisor or, for free confidential advice, call the National Debtline on 0808 808 4000.
