I AM one who supports the cause set out by Mr Duly, and agree that an intruder ought to forfeit all rights when entering property with illegal intent.
Interestingly, in a recent interview, immediately after the government announcement not to pursue a change in the current legislation, the DPP stated unequivocally that the CPS would not bring a prosecution against a homeowner for attacking an intruder with a weapon such as a cricket bat.
Let us not forget that it's the CPS and not the police who call the shots here.
I for one will take the DPP at his word if the need ever arises.
