FIREFIGHTERS spent nearly two hours battling a blaze inside a large skip at a waste disposal site in Radcliffe.
Officers believe the outbreak at the tip in Cemetery Road was due to smoking material which had been carelessly discarded.
With the aid of contractors, the burning contents of the skip were emptied before being extinguished.
The crew was at the scene from 6am until 7.45am on Thursday.
