MY father was at the Jumbles, near the tea rooms, on Sunday with my 15-year-old Cairn terrier Whisky when a brown mongrel dog attacked it.
This dog, which was much too big for its woman owner to handle, got my dog's head in its teeth and wouldn't let go. The woman just stood there hysterically and did nothing. My dog's ear was bitten off and his neck wounded.
Whisky has had to have extensive veterinarary treatment, including an operation, and is still not himself. The woman owner did not even offer to pay and my father was too shocked to pursue the matter. He was only concerned with Whisky's well-being.
What is the point of having a dog in the first place if you can not control it? I just worry that this dog could attack again.
