RAMPANT Bury Squash Club's remarkable run is still going strong, and its aim of going unbeaten throughout the season is becoming a serious possibility.

A 19-point haul away at East Lancs II maintains the run and also keeps their closest challengers at arms length

This was a plucky display from the Blackburn side as each of their players took at least a set of their illustrious opponents, but Bury's overall superiority shone through in the end.

The visitors were behind early on after Sam Leach just came out on the wrong side of a five setter, but normal service was resumed thereafter.

Steve Creegan levelled the match with victory over Isherwood. In the process, Bury's number five extended his own impressive sequence of results since the early part of the season.

Stu Garnett also proved that his mid-season wobble is a matter of history, but he had to battle to the end to edge past opponent Heyworth 3-2.

Victory on the night was sealed by Paul Harrison, with a win in four sets.

The elder statesman of the Bury side has proved an excellent acquisition this season and he also demonstrated his tenacity, closing the match with two tie break sets.

The coup de grace was applied by Eddie Black. Bury's front man rarely plays the anchor leg but was perfectly comfortable as last man, also winning in four sets, and apart from a slip in the second set he was in tip top shape. After the match the question on everyone's lips is 'who can break the winning streak?'
