Regarding the article about marrying out of your race.
I am an Asian woman and I wanted to marry a man who was white. My family was very understanding at first but when the wider family got involved I decided to call the whole thing off.
My parents seemed apprehensive even though he was the same religion as me. But they agreed. My partner was welcomed into my home but when I heard what other people in my wider-family was saying I felt it best not to go through with it.
It is sad but I think parents are not to blame but 'local gossip' mongers who decide it is their business to pry into other people's private life.
