LOWERHOUSE will lose professional Andrew McDonald for five games next month.

The Aussie has been selected for a month-long tour of England with state side Victoria.

He will be missing from action from June 6.

Lowerhouse chairman David Wren has drafted in Aussie Shane Harwood for three of the five games McDonald misses.

Harwood, 31, is professional at St Annes, where former Lancashire and England star Ian Austin currently plays.

The right-arm fast bowler is a good friend of McDonald and a team-mate for Victoria.

He has taken 42 first class wickets for 1277 runs, and has scored 170 first class runs in 13 games.

In the Switch to Switch Worsley Cup last night, Todmorden are closing in on victory against Enfield.

Tod need another 36 runs from their remaining 19.2 overs with six wickets standing when play resumes at Dill Hall Lane this evening.

Beginning on Monday evening after the sides failed to complete the game on the Sunday, Todmorden started on 6-0 and openers Dave Hatton and Andrew Sutcliffe took the total to 17 when Hatton was caught by Phil Stanley off skipper David Bracewell for two.

Rob Green then removed stand-in skipper Jon Henderson (12) and Mark Clayton (11) in an impressive 10 over spell that saw him pick up 2-35.

Bracewell also bowled himself out in taking 2-31 after bagging the wicket of Sutcliffe for 25.

Tod Professional Gyan Pandey looked untroubled in making an unbeaten 29 and with Matthew Brierley also looking in good touch on 15, Todmorden will be confident of victory after ending the session on 99-4 with the light too poor to continue.

In other news, Kent have signed South African all-rounder Justin Kemp as their second overseas player for the summer.

The 27-year-old, who played for his country in the recent one-day series in the West Indies, could make his debut tomorrow against Surrey in Tunbridge Wells.
