TWO children have been left heartbroken after bunny burglars went on a spree on a Morecambe street.
Billy and Jimmy, two five-year-old Dutch rabbits, were taken from their hutch in Denise Needhan's Broadway garden by thieves - and a neighbour's pet bunnies has also gone missing.
Denis says: "I called my neighbour and she had had her rabbits taken as well, but she said I was the second person to call her and say that we had had our pets taken. In total I know of 10 that have been stolen.
She goes on: "Someone has been going around taking our rabbits. The people who have done this are disgusting. It's awful to think what they have done to them, but it will not have been good.
"Rabbits can't defend themselves like cats and dogs can - it's cruel and nasty to take kids pets which they love."
She says the family will not be getting any more rabbits because they would hate them to be snatched again.
Detective Sergeant Sean Carthy wants to see the rabbit raiders caught and says: "These thefts are sick and unacceptable and any information would be really appreciated.
"As a father of two children and a rabbit owner I can only imagine just how upsetting this sort of crime would be."
