HAVE the people of Poulton been properly consulted about the demolition of one of their amenities - the MOT station, car workshop, shop and petrol station in Queen Street, with the loss of seven jobs?
Just five years ago Poulton was declared a Neighbourhood Renewal Area and one of the principal issues was the need to support existing businesses. That is not the case here.
Also, have the people of Poulton been informed about the six-storey block of flats - the largest building in the entire area - that is planned to take its place.
The development of 41 flats will bring with it 46 extra cars circulating around the one way system to enter the ground floor car park planned on Station Road - the same street where children enter and leave school.
Do parents realise their school children will be cut off from a lot of sky in the shadow of this gigantic building? Is this what we need in Poulton?
