A theatre academy in Crawshawbooth is inviting budding actors to audition for a live production of Oliver. The auditions are being held at Rakefoot Methodist Church on Sunday January 24th. The play will be staged in June and young actors between the ages of 5 and 18 are required.

Valley Academy is a stage school based in the Rossendale Valley.

Specialising in teaching Musical Theatre and Dance to young people, the Academy is the only school in the Valley to perform full scale Musical productions.

"Our approach to teaching and learning stems very much from the experience and training of the Academy’s Principal, Grant Bromley. We believe in a process of learning through performance. Classes are therefore focused towards an end goal, whether it is a Musical Production, Pantomime or Concert. All students are encouraged to be involved and learn from the experience only live performance can deliver.

We also hold both Easter and Summer Schools, which again culminate in a performance to showcase students’ work.

We pride ourselves on being able to provide professional representation for gifted students. Our agency, Valley Management, seeks employment for clients in theatre, television, film, radio and advertising.

We welcome students from all backgrounds, regardless of their ability or experience and aim to identify the needs of each individual in order to enable them to reach their full potential and develop into a rounded performer.

A unique environment of commitment, engagement and trust has developed at Valley Academy due to the strong bond between students, staff and parents.

We also hold adult classes for those interested in Dance and Musical Theatre."
