A DOG drowned in Rowley Lake, Burnley, after getting into difficulties in the freezing water.
The dog and its owner were out for a walk in the park on Saturday when the pet fell into the lake at around 3pm.
Dave Robinson, crew manager at Burnley fire station, said: “The dog had been in the water for 20 to 30 minutes before we arrived and by the time we got it out it had died unfortunately.
“We tried to revive it but that was unsuccessful.”
