A DEAL worth £750,000 for Colne’s new health centre is expected to be sealed by health bosses within the next fortnight.
Funding has been set aside in the NHS East Lancashire budget for the former Kwik Save site, off Craddock Road.
Councillors from the Colne area committee approved proposals for the venture earlier this year and welcomed the centre’s arrival.
The existing health centre is located on Market Street and health bosses have considered a number of alternatives for a replacement.
Alternative plans were drawn up by developers Citypark for another town centre site, bounded by Norfolk Street, Dockray Street, King Street and Buck Street.
But health trust bosses were not interested in that plot.
