A NEAR life-size bronze statue of a wild boar has been stolen in Chipping.
The £1,000 model was taken from the Wild Boar Park between 5pm on February 17 and 7am the morning after, after thieves cut through wires and bolts that had secured the statue.
Chris Bailey, who runs the family-owned park with his parents Bill and Jackie, said that they had noticed the statue had gone missing as soon as they arrived in the morning.
He said: “The children who visited the park loved the statue.
“And it will be missed a great deal. It was insured, but we only stumbled across it by accident in Whitewell in 2002 and we have no idea where to get them from.”
