GOLD graffiti was sprayed on cars and houses in a Blackburn street.
Residents were shocked to discover six cars and three houses had the words ‘Sammy’ and ‘Lozzy’ sprayed across them on Monday night.
They said they had not heard anything overnight along St George’s Avenue in Mill Hill and contacted police around 5.30am yesterday to report the damage.
As a result of the damage residents in St George’s Avenue are calling on police to install CCTV cameras to monitor the area in a bid to prevent it from happening again.
The affected residents were able to wash off the graffiti with soap and water. One resident said: “I was gutted when I saw my car this morning, it’s normally a very, very quiet area. We want CCTV on the street.”
Another resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “It’s terrible, they have no respect.”
Community Beat Manager PC Mark Perry said: “While the incident is not classed as criminal damage, it will be investigated and the Neighbourhood Team is making enquiries to find out who was responsible.
“Anyone who saw what happened or who has any information should contact police on 01254 353921.”
