MORE than 70 motorists were rescued from a country road after getting trapped in yesterday’s heavy snow fall.
Police had to call on the army and Blackburn with Darwen Council for support to help the occupants of around 50 vehicles who were caught in snow on the Grane Road.
The Grane Road was closed between the Guide junction at Blackburn and the A56 at Haslingden.
