SEVEN vehicles have been targeted by thieves in an area of Hyndburn over the course of one night.

Police said the vehicles were all parked in Church when they were broken into on Monday morning.

As a result they are stepping up patrols and urging people to ensure they leave their vehicles secure and ensure all valuables are moved out of sight.

A number of satellite navigation systems were among the items stolen.

On Dill Hall Lane a TomTom sat nav, sunglasses, cushions and a bag were stolen worth £540 stolen from a Silver Audi A4, and a Blaupunkt CD/radio and CDs worth £200 were stolen from a red Mercedes E200.

In Cranbourne Drive, a silver Vauxhall Astra had £150 tool bag and CDs stolen and another vehicle was targeted.

A Iveco van was broken into and a TomTom sat nav, two pairs of sunglasses and CDs were stolen, and a CDs worth £30 were taken from silver Vauxhall Meriva in William Street.

And thieves also snapped the indicator arm and the windscreen wiper arm off a Mercedes van in First Avenue Contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
