ROSEGROVE butcher Stephen Berkins is celebrating after his pork, leek and black pudding sausage secured a regional prize. He was crowned North West Champion at the event in Manchester.
Entrants had to use a traditional landmark local ingredient and out of a record number of competitors Stephen and four other finalists were called to the Grill on the Alley restaurant in front of judges including Dicky Bird.
