PENDLE residents are being reminded that they must return their voter registration forms.
Householders who are not making changes to the details on the pre-printed forms can register by telephone, internet or text, which reduces the number of postal forms and the costs involved.
Of the 40,000 households sent forms last month, 61per cent of households in Pendle have so far responded to the annual voter registration process, with 9,000 households using the telephone, internet or text service.
If changes need to be made, the form should be amended, signed and sent back in the return post envelope.
Gillian Hartley, Pendle Council’s elections officer, said: “We are pleased with the level of response so far, but over 16,000 households have yet to return their forms. We ask them to do so as soon as possible.”
