THE funeral of a Blackburn teacher who died two days after being diagnosed with a brain tumour has taken place.
Clare Whittle, 27, who lived in Euxton near Chorley, was diagnosed with the tumour by medics at Royal Preston Hospital on September 1.
She died there two days later, surrounded by her parents Ian and Ann, and younger sister Sarah.
Her death came two days before she was due to welcome reception children to Cedars Infant School in Blackburn.
Clare had joined the school in April this year having spent five years at St James’s Primary in Blackburn.
Donations to a children’s charity and the critical care unit at Royal Preston Hospital are still welcome.
