A MAN has been left with a head wound after he was attacked by a gang of youths, police said.
The 47-year-old had walked away from a disturbance in Brush Street, Burnley, before he was followed and attacked at 9.30pm on Sunday.
Detective Constable Neil Swindells said: “There was a disturbance on Brush Street and during that disturbance a number of people including some juveniles have come onto the street.
“The victim was followed on to Accrington Road where threatening behaviour culminated in the victim being hit with a a weapon of some sort.
“He sustained injuries above his eye.”
A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident but has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
