HYNDBURN residents will be given the chance to have their say about their quality of life.

Hyndburn Council and Lancashire County Council are undertaking the most comprehensive survey yet of residents’ views on the quality of life in the borough.

Around 3,500 households have been randomly selected to receive a survey which asks for opinions on everything from what most needs improving in the area to their views on local public services.

The Place Survey, which will be carried out every two years, includes questions on volunteering, community safety, and whether there are enough opportunities to get involved in decision making.

Coun Marlene Haworth said that the results of the survey would be used by the government to monitor progress on 18 different performance indicators, and the councils will be using the information to deliver improvements.
