A pensioner had her handbag containing £400 snatched in Rawtenstall.
The 67-year-old woman was walking along Burnley Road at 1.50pm on Monday when the thief, described as a slim white man, wearing a dark hooded coat and dark trousers, struck.
Her bag contained credit cards, £400, a Motorola mobile phone and house keys.
Witnesses should call Rossendale police on 01706 237481.
