THE ambulance service has released more details about Sunday’s three-car crash in Netherton.

Four people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries, after the incident which happened at the junction of Halesowen Road and Amphletts Close just before midday on April 21.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and the Midland Air Ambulance from Cosford to the incident which left the busy Halesowen Road closed for some time.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said today: “We were called at just after noon on Sunday to a road traffic collision involving three vehicles at the junction of Halesowen Road and Amphletts Close in Netherton.

“Upon arrival we found four patients.

“The first, a man and a woman who were the driver of and a passenger in the first car.

“The driver was assessed and had sustained serious injuries. He received advanced trauma care at the scene and was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital under emergency blue light conditions for further treatment.

“The passenger had sustained injuries not believed to be serious and received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Sandwell District Hospital.

“The drivers of the second and third car, a man and a woman, were assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.

“They received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital.”
