Police are investigating a report of sexual assault in Rawtenstall, after a person reportedly pulled down a woman’s trousers and underwear.
The woman was walking along Grange Road, after 6.30pm on Monday, January 6, when the incident was said to have taken place.
He did not speak to the woman and walked off, along Grange Road towards Grange Crescent.
The victim was left feeling shocked but not physically hurt.
Police now wish to speak with the person in the CCTV image in connection to an alleged sexual assault.
A police spokesperson said: “We want to speak to him after a woman was sexually assaulted in Rawtenstall.
“The victim was walking along Grange Road at shortly after 6.30pm yesterday (Monday, January 8) when she was approached from behind by the suspect who pulled down her trousers and underwear.
“He did not speak to the victim and walked away following the assault along Grange Road towards Grange Crescent.
“The victim was left shocked but fortunately was not physically hurt.”
