Storm warnings are all too common nowadays, but bad weather has caused problems across East Lancashire for many years.
This photo shows drivers easing their way through a seriously flooded stretch of Blackburn Road in Haslingden following torrential rain in October 1998.
The road, close to Winfield’s, would become impassable for a while with several cars having to be abandoned.
If you have any dramatic weather photos over the years we'd love to share them with Looking Back readers. Email bygones@nqnw.co.uk or post them in a comment.
