Designer fashion store Tessuti is set to close another of its East Lancashire stores.

Earlier this month, the Lancashire Telegraph announced that the retailer’s Blackburn branch would be closing down and now, we can inform readers that the store in Burnley will also be closing.

The men's and women’s outlet, which takes up a prime spot in Burnley town centre’s Charter Walk, is expected to close later in the summer and is one of several branches to shut in the region.

Signs in the store window state ‘store closing, all stock reduced with at least 30 per cent off’.

The store is based on the same stretch as New Look and River Island.

The closure follows similar announcements by shopping centre staff at stores at The Rock in Bury, which will close in August, as well as the branch in Bolton's Market Place Shopping Centre and others across the UK.

Frasers Group Plc, announced in February that they had acquired fashion retailers Scotts, Choice, Giulio, and Cricket, including Tessuti, from JD Sports.

It is believed a number of Scotts stores across the country will also close.

Some of the brands that Frasers Group also represent include 18Montrose, Evans Cycles, Flannels, Frasers, Game, House of Fraser, Jack Wills, Sports Direct, and USC.

Tessuti was founded in 1985 by David Light, with 40 per cent of the business being bought by JD Sports in May 2012, and fully acquiring it in 2016.

The retailer also has stores at the Trafford Centre and the Lowry Outlet.

Frasers Group has been contacted for comment.
