STORE wars in the centre of Colne look set to be resolved at a town hall meeting tonight.
Tesco and Sainsbury's have submitted plans to Pendle Council for supermarkets on land between Norfolk Street, Windy Bank and Market Street.
Planning officers have recommended approval of the Sainsbury's project and refusal of the Tesco plan from Newcastle Land and Property.
The Sainsbury's application would see Grove Mill demolished and a store erected with car parking.
The Newcastle develop-ment is recommended for refusal as planning officials do not believe questions over land ownership can be resolved within a suitable time frame.
Colne Committee will meet at 6pm at Colne Town Hall to discuss the applications.
