POLICE are appealing for information that will lead to the arrest of a wanted man.

Matthew Robert Magee is 21 and from Blackburn and is thought to be in the area or maybe in Accrington.

A warrant has been issued by Hyndburn magistrates for his arrest for allegedly breaching a community order given for an assault.

He appeared on the Lancashire Police wanted on warrant web site in March and following the publicity he surrendered to the police at Accrington three days later.

This matter relates to another breach in the same proceedings.

Inspector John Clucas explained: "Mr Magee surrendered to the police and then appeared before the court, a decision was made by the court and subsequently it appears that he failed to comply with that decision so again new breach proceedings were initiated. He now is wanted on warrant again so we would appeal to him to surrender, or for information from the public to be passed to us so we can make an early arrest."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact their local police station or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. If Crimestoppers is used then the caller may receive a reward.

Alternatively on the Lancashire Police website there is a link to an email address where information can be sent.
