CONTROVERSIAL proposals to open a new supermarket in Barnoldswick were dramatically withdrawn at the 11th hour by developers.
Councillors were set to consider plans by Maple Grove Developments for a new store on the Carlton Filtration site, in The Butts, on Tuesday night.
But the application, opposed by Barnoldswick Town Council and local traders, was not heard by the West Craven committee.
Objectors sent 120 letters to the council.
