BURNLEY was given almost twice as much National Lottery funding as Blackburn in the past year, new figures reveal.
East Lancashire was given a total of £8,287,167 during 2007/08, culture minister Gerry Sutcliffe said.
The data, broken down by Parliamentary constituency, showed Blackburn received 19 grants totalling £1,525,931, while Burnley's 30 grants added up to £2,612,698.
Projects in Rossendale and Darwen were given 25 grants, totalling £895,818, Chorley 37 (£1,124,821), Pendle 22 (£686,981), Hyndburn 22 (£645,265) and Ribble Valley 16 (£795,653).
