A MAN was punched in the head after he tried to break up a fight, police said.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the 32-year-old was attacked in Beech Grove, Barnoldswick, on May 23.
He was punched in the head after he intervened in a fight between several youths at 10.20pm.
He sustained a cut to his head and returned to his home after the attack.
Inspector Russ Proctor said anyone who saw the attack should contact the police.
He said: "He saw an altercation taking place between several youths and has intervened to try and calm the situation down.
"At which point he was punched by the offenders which caused a cut to his head.
"We are making inquiries into the identity of the offenders and anyone with information can contact Nelson police on 01282 472604."
