The Aldephi public house, round the corner from Telegraph Towers, are raising money for the Rosemere Cancer Centre charity, by having a five-a-side footabll competition in May this year.

Have some fun and raise money for a very good cause at the same time.

Anyone who has played or watched five-a-side, knows how much fun it can be, if you just get involved and get into the spirit of it all!

Teams can be mixed and it costs £20 per team to register for the tournament, each team must have at least 5 players.

There will be some grub for after the match and a special trophy for the winners and the proceeds from the match will be doneated to the Rosemere Cancer Centre.

If you are interested in taking part, ask the bar staff for an entry form. Matches will be played on Sunday May 25.

Some information about the Charity:
Over 4000 patients from across Lancashire and South Cumbria attend the Rosemere Cancer Centre for lifesaving radiotherapy each year.

Although the centre leads the way in developing best practice, current treatment techniques often involve unavoidable damage to healthy tissue.

Image Guided Radiotherapy equipment can change that. The greater accuracy it can deliver, will reduce the side effects and will give patients a far better quality of life during treatment.

It will make the treatment more effective, reducing the chance of cancer returning.

The funds raised by the Rosemere Ray of Hope Appeal will allow the addition of Image Guided Radiotherapy Treatment (IGRT) facilities to the latest of the Rosemere Cancer Centre's 6 linear accelerator radiotherapy machines.

Lastest figures show that 1 in 3 of us will get cancer at some time in our lives. So dig as deep as you can because you or someone you love may need this equipment in the future to stand a chance of surviving.
