IT'S time to throw away those old winter clothes and treat yourself to a whole new you in time for spring.

The Mall Blackburn has shipped in fitness and beauty experts as part of a week long fashion event to ensure shoppers are in tip top shape for this season's new spring/summer fashions.

Mall bosses have teamed up with The Regency Gym at Waves, who will be putting consumers through their paces testing everything from current fitness levels to providing top tips for getting in shape for summer.

The fitness trainers will take centre stage on Monday at The Mall, providing demonstrations and consultations to shoppers. Free day passes and the chance to win gym memberships will also be available.

The day is the start of a week long fashion extravaganza designed to "Beautify Blackburn", being held from April 28 to May 3. It features an impressive line up, with each day designed to "beautify" the town in its own unique way. Tuesday and Wednesday will see a unique pamper station take centre stage, offering complimentary manicures, facials and makeovers, courtesy of Virgin Vie. Meanwhile, Thursday will see five catwalk shows take place, showcasing the hottest high street fashions for the season.

The weekend's activities start with a drop in fashion surgery on Friday, where shoppers can receive top tips from a Style Doctor and Colour Me Beautiful Consultant - ensuring the perfect style and colouring advice to last a lifetime. On Saturday shoppers will be able to "beautify" their finances, thanks to expert advice from Acorn Independent Financial Management Ltd.

General manager of The Mall Blackburn, Loraine Jones, said: "Our week long campaign has been designed around issues that are important to our shoppers at this time of year.

"Whether it's toning up for the bikini season, receiving top style and colouring advice, seeing the latest high street fashions brought to life or simply a chance to makeover their finances, it's all here.

"There's also complimentary manicures, facials and makeovers to feel truly pampered.

"We're encouraging the people of Blackburn to join in and be beautified' on us."
