A RAWTENSTALL boutique has taken the first step in urging the town to become plastic bag-free - and raising money for charity in the process.
Sunday Best in Bank Street, has created an eco-bag' which can be re-used over and over again to protect the environment.
The shop, owned by Jan Shutt, already uses paper carrier bags rather than plastic ones.
The courier-style bag is black and white and features the Sunday Best logo and the cheeky catchphrase "There's life in this old bag yet."
Each bag costs £4 and a Jan is donating a percentage of the proceeds to Rossendale Hospice.
The bags have only been on sale for a couple of months and Jan has already raised around £600 for the charity.
She said: "If everybody made a small effort in how they conduct their lives it would make a huge difference."
