I promise I won't plug things too often. Otherwise, you might accuse me of being a sellout. My friend has been bothering me for the past few weeks to get the word out about this, though and so, for the sake of my ears and sanity I will relent.

The event in question is a musical one, and it takes place at the Cornerhouse on Sunday the 27th of April. Now, there are no more advance tickets left, but if you come down early you can get in on the door.

The head-liners are local blues covers kids Wait and Blues, who are very good and well-known and well-travelled Kinks tribute band Kinda Kinks, who are also very good.

Also playing are the talents of Paperwives, Sam Hird, The Bacchallians, Teaspoon, The Chars, The Gin Jammers and DJ Pheliix. Its a good mix of music, some rock, some acoustic stuff and even a bit of drum and bass.

Best of all, the money goes to Oxfam, which will help pay for things which poor kids in Africa don't have, but which your money can probably pay for. So you can come along, listen to some great bands, get a round in with your mates and feel better about yourself all in one evening at only the cost of £3. (it might be 4 on the door, the poster she gave me doesn't say.) Things kick off at 3, and I'm told there may be food at some point, though don't quote me on that.
