2008 is shaping up to be another huge year for Björk and we have a pair of tickets to give away to her first UK tour for four years. She will appear at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool on 1 May.

The Volta Tour has seen Björk take her thrilling new set across the world in a series of festival performances and headline shows to considerable acclaim.

Björk's band on the Volta Tour includes Mark Bell (LFO) on computers and keyboards and Damian Taylor on keyboards and programming. Drums & percussion come from Chris Corsano (Sonic Youth etc) and Björk's fantastic all female Icelandic 10 piece brass section is in full effect.

If you're not lucky enough to be a winner, limited tickets are still available through 0844 856 1111 or online at www.blackpoollive.com. Tickets are priced £37.

The tour is preceded by the release of the brand new single 'Declare Independence' on January 1st 2008. A muscular and militant rallying cry, 'Declare Independence' sees Björk at her most passionate and inventive and comes with an electrified backbeat that continues where 'Earth Intruders' left off. Bristling with intense energy this contemporary protest song sees Björk firmly on the march.

Taken from her new album 'Volta', 'Declare Independence' is written and produced by Björk, along with longtime collaborator Mark Bell. The track comes complete with an incredible video courtesy of celebrated Oscar winning French director Michel Gondry ('Sunshine of the Spotless Mind') with whom Björk has worked on acclaimed videos including Army of Me and Hyperballad.
