Speaking with Eccleshill resident, Linda Mason this afternoon, I discovered that Eccleshill has been entered into the Best Kept Village competition.
Last year they came second, which is a huge achievement for such a small place and this year Linda hopes to do even better!
The forms arrived in January and were sent off before yesterday's closing date. Judging for the competition takes place between June 1st and July 13th, so keep on the lookout for people walking round with clipboards peering at your gardens!
The final judging is done on the 2nd August, the results are released on the 5th September and the award ceremony for the winners takes place on 12th October.
In order for Eccleshill to be a winner, please will all residents make sure their house fronts are neat, tidy and litter-free during the initial juding period.
Good Luck Eccleshill!
