A NEW dad given unpaid work for a burglary had the order revoked after a court heard he had "untold" problems.

Burnley Crown Court was told how Christopher McKillop's new daughter had been taken into hospital, he had collpased in the street with a blood disorder last December and he was now the sole carer of the infant after his partner suffered post natal depression.

McKillop, 27, was not able to do the work and had spent the night in custody after being arrested.

Judge Beverley Lunt revoked the order and gave the defendant, of Lisbon Drive, Burnley, an eight-week jail term, suspended for six months, with six months of supervision.

The court was told the defendant had been given 180 hours' unpaid work in April last year. He breached the order last October but it was allowed to continue and he was given a four-week curfew. He had completed sixteen and a quarter hours of the work.

McKillop was said not to be able to work because of his drug dependency and the Probation Service felt there was no prospect of him completing the order.

Charles Brown, for McKillop, said McKillop was due to see a hospital specialist in Leeds for brain re-tracking.
