A 31-year-old woman smashed a neighbour's window and daubed the word "slag" on her front door.

Blackburn magistrates heard the neighbour had no idea why Deborah Grant turned against her.

Roger Pickles, defending, said his client had been at a very low ebb and had been drinking heavily.

Grant, 31, of Lawrence Street, Blackburn, admitted criminal damage.

She was given a 12-month conditional discharge,with £50 compensation and £50 costs.

A charge of burglary was discharged.
