PAINTINGS by a well- known local artist are to go up for auction to raise money for church funds.
The art work, created by Darwen artist Albert Hurst is on display at Sunnyhurst Wood Visitor Centre, before being auctioned to raise money for St Barnabas' Church in the town.
Albert, who passed away in 1997, aged 91, was a founder, then life member, of the Darwen Civic Society, for whom he designed the annual Christmas cards.
The pictures will be sold by silent auction and bids can be submitted to the centre before the deadline of April 27.
For further information about the auction contact the centre on 01254 701545.
