A NEW complex of 71 homes in Blackburn has been given the green light.
Blackburn with Darwen councillors voted to give planning permission to the development on Sumner Street.
There will be 43 two and three-storey houses and 28 flats built in three-storey blocks, and a public space and play area.
A spokesman for developer Bellway Homes told the planning committee the scheme would "kick-start" the regeneration of the Freckleton Street area.
The proposals will require the developers to pay £10,000 towards traffic-calming measures.
