Excitingly, this pub was once owned by TV comedian, Jim Bowen, most famous for his presenting role on ITV’s Bullseye from 1981-1995.
He purchased the pub in 1998 alongside his wife, Phyllis. It was later taken over by Thwaites brewery.
Mr Bowen, who grew up in Clayton-Le-Moors, was educated at Accrington Grammar School and worked as a dustman in Burnley at the age of 15.
